Partial Payment Optimizer

Partial Payment Optimizer Calculator — Keep Services Alive

What this calculator does

You have limited cash. This calculator pays each bill up to a small keep-active threshold so you avoid immediate default or cancellation.

The math, with a worked example

Loop through bills. Pay = min(available cash, bill balance, $20 threshold). Subtract payment from available cash and continue. With $100, rent may get $20, electric $20, phone $20, and internet $20, leaving $20 unallocated.

Why this matters

$100 spread as 4 partial payments can keep 4 services alive where 1 full payment keeps 1. Partial money buys time and goodwill — the opposite of the instinct to pay one bill completely and let the rest burn.

Methodology and transparency

The tool walks your bills in order, paying each min(remaining cash, balance, $20) until the cash runs out. The $20 threshold is a heuristic, not a rule: a token payment signals good faith to many billers, but it does not legally stop late fees, disconnection timelines, or collections — calling each biller to pair the partial payment with a promise date is what actually pauses most clocks. Everything runs in your browser; no data is sent or stored.

Common questions

Will this stop late fees?

No. It only delays default. You still owe the full bill and likely late fees.

What is the $20 threshold?

A hardcoded placeholder. Some creditors require a higher minimum to avoid cancellation.
