SNAP Food Stamp Pacer Calculator

What this calculator does

Divide your remaining SNAP balance by the days left in the month to get a daily spending limit.

The math, with a worked example

Days left = days in month − current day. Daily limit = remaining balance ÷ days left. With $250 left on day 15 of a 30-day month, your daily limit is $16.67.

Why this matters

A SNAP balance has to survive to the last day of the month, and running out in week 3 is the failure this tool exists to prevent. Balance ÷ days left = today's ceiling — one division that keeps day 25 from being an empty-balance day.

Methodology and transparency

Daily limit = remaining balance ÷ days until the next deposit. The division assumes even spending, which real grocery trips aren't — buying a week of staples at once front-loads the spend, so treat the daily number as a weekly budget ÷ 7 when you shop weekly. Recompute after every trip; the ceiling moves with the real balance. Everything runs in your browser; no data is sent or stored.
